Walk In My Boots this weekend, May 8th, will be honoring and memorializing local Veterans at our annual golf tournament. The Karl Malone Toyota of Ruston, A Salute to Veterans Golf Classic will be proudly displaying signs that honor these Veterans. These tributes are provided by their loved ones. Come join us at 9:00am at Frenchman's Bend Golf Club to help pay tribute to our local heros. We will have vendors and entertainment free to the public. We will also have military book authors Ms. Shirley Wesselhoeft and Mike Croissant present selling their books and telling the stories of their loved ones. Come join us this Friday, May 8th.

✈️ WWII Aviation Fact - Countdown to D-Day ✈️

In late April of 1944, Allied bombers like the B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator were flying dangerous missions over Europe in preparation for D-Day—but they didn’t go alone.

Fighter escorts like the legendary North American P-51 Mustang played a crucial role in protecting these bombers from enemy aircraft. With its long range and speed, the P-51 helped turn the tide of the air war by giving Allied bombers the protection they desperately needed deep into enemy territory.

Aircraft like “Charlotte’s Chariot” represent the very fighters that helped secure air superiority and ultimately contributed to Allied victory.
