This Memorial Day, we honor not only the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, but also the courageous military working dogs who stood beside them. 🇺🇸🐾

Many people don’t realize that military dogs are considered service members, often holding rank higher than their handlers as a sign of respect and protection. These loyal K9 heroes have served in combat, detected explosives, saved countless lives, and made the ultimate sacrifice alongside their human brothers and sisters in arms.

Today we remember them all — the fallen soldiers and the fallen canine warriors who served with courage, loyalty, and honor.
