Lawmakers: Make Affordability a Priority! 06/25/2026

Pennsylvania is no longer in the backward thinking 'Green Alliance' of northeastern states. Gov. Shapiro is back sliding on moving toward getting us back into something similar to this fiasco by proposing an 'energy tax' that will raise energy rates incredibly high. The Commonwealth Foundation states:

There are several proposals Gov. Shapiro is pushing in this year's state budget that will directly impact Pennsylvania families, and not for the better.

The governor's $53.3 billion budget proposal would deepen the state's structural deficit to $6 billion. By draining the state's rainy day fund, Governor Shapiro would stick Pennsylvania taxpayers with the bill for his reckless spending spree.

The result would be a $2,100 tax increase for a family of four, but that’s not all!

Shapiro also proposes instituting a new energy tax, which would double electricity bills for households across the Commonwealth.

Pennsylvania families cannot afford higher taxes and rising energy bills, especially as the state continues to struggle with population loss. Every day, Pennsylvanians are choosing to leave in search of greater opportunity elsewhere. We should be focused on lowering costs for families, not increasing them.

Contact your lawmakers today and urge them to make affordability a priority during this year's state budget negotiations. They must oppose Shapiro’s tax hike and energy tax! You can do that at this link right here--
