Congratulations Fire & Ice, Boys 10U Champions at the Swallows Classic in San Juan Capistrano!
They scored 24 goals over 4 games, while allowing only 1. They notched wins against San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Cucamonga and Hacienda Heights in pool play, earning a face-off against Covina for the final.
After a 5 hour break between games on Sunday the final was tough, and both teams battled hard. The first half ended 0-0. But the 4th quarter was all Fire & Ice! Determined to not allow the game to go to kicks from the mark, they settled in, protected possession, and earned two great goals to secure the championship with a 2-0 shut out win over a very physical Covina side.
Nearing the end of the tournament season, only five of the original Fire & Ice roster participated, opening the door to four more fierce Region 2 athletes to experience tough tournament play. Congratulations to all of you for your accomplishment!
This team will finish its run at the Let Them Play Tournament hosted by Section 1 in Chino in a few weeks. One last chance to play together and represent Region 2.
