Hi there! I figured it may be time to introduce myself to those who just got here. Thank you so much for being with me on this journey.
I’m Jamie Lyn Smith, although I just go by Jamie. The Lyn is a nod to my southern roots, although Miami isn’t quite the south anymore. I live in Montclair, NJ with my husband, two kids and our pup Sunny.
It’s been a journey to find my true passion for design. I started out as an urban planner and found myself working for a real estate developer designing kitchens, baths and even a hotel. I knew I had finally found my passion.
Smith Home Studios was born in 2018 but it’s had its ups and downs, most notably taking a two year hiatus to help my kids navigate Covid. I’m back now and slowly building my client base.
My husband and I bought an A frame cabin in the Catskills of NY back in 2018 where we spend a lot of time skiing and hiking. We’ve been so lucky to have this little gem, but it’s time to make it a bit more comfortable for our family.
As you follow along, I’ll be leading you through the design, construction and renovation of of our -Frame and peppering some of my other projects.

We are excited to share the news that a house we recently renovated was used to film 's new commercial featuring and Scarlett Johansson.
Keep an eye out for the new commercial to debut this Sunday during the big game!
