Get UP – Is a song that became while jamming at Sweesly’s Seaside Kitchenette where BarKings usually meet every week on Tuesdays (C U Next Tuesday)...

While testing what kind of set-up would work best, reviewing simple beats, Logic Loops and some midi instruments, el Kallpa went to try this very “Classic” Reggae/Dancehall bass-line, but we were looking to spice it up, fuse it, sprinkle some diy Regguetón (or Reggaeton) beats, discovered the very raw loop of the beatboxing, then Sweesly added some melodies, Riffs, and some synth horns, and more weird sounds…
Sweesly used his skills on sampling on the iPad, bouncing tracks back to Logic, and the basic loop was born….

Working hard on the beat, el Kallpa set a theme and came up with a vague melody for the hook… We let the loop tell us what this song was about…. This is about getting s**t done, hustling, and doing it yourself, “be the One to Open the Door'' meaning no one will come and knock on your door to make you popular, you need to get up, focus and get out there, believe in get it DONE!

Later each part of the duo wrote their verses, cooked up more in the “Seaside Kitchenette '' and Sweesly added more nuances, sound FX and pops and together we finished the song with the breaks, the silences, the stops, the surprises, sound FX and more… Sit back and enjoy….
