These incredible photos, taken in 1989, capture the historic Ware-Farley-Hood House making its remarkable journey to the corner of Randolph and North Hull in Old Alabama Town.

These photos document the five-hour trip from its original location at 203 South Hull Street.

The end of Montgomery's iconic Montgomery Fair building.

In 1990, crews began the painstaking demolition of the historic building, carefully removing it brick by brick to avoid damaging the other historic structures surrounding it. It was a slow and deliberate process, made even more heartbreaking because this beautiful four-story Chicago-style building, completed in 1906, had been a landmark for generations. One of its most recognizable features was the four sculpted women's faces that adorned the building, making it one of downtown Montgomery's most distinctive architectural treasures.
Many preservationists and local history lovers were saddened to see the building taken apart. At the same time, they gave the Mr. Sellers (the owner) credit for spending years trying to find a way to save it from demolition.
