What a wonderful day in downtown Monticello!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for 1776 Day and spent the afternoon enjoying beautiful weather, exploring our historic downtown, and celebrating the stories that shaped our community.

Visitors experienced live demonstrations from talented artisans, met historical figures throughout the trail, and discovered local history through storyboards placed at each stop. It was especially rewarding to see so many families completing the map and earning one of our free commemorative 250th anniversary T-shirts. We loved seeing everyone sharing photos and making memories along the way.

A special thank you goes to Raccoon John Smith and Daniel Boone, whose remarkable performances brought two of Kentucky's most legendary frontiersmen to life. Their storytelling, knowledge, and passion made history feel personal and unforgettable for visitors of all ages.

Thank you to our volunteers, participating businesses, artisans, performers, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. We hope you enjoyed exploring Monticello's rich history as much as we enjoyed sharing it with you.
We can't wait to do it again.
