This is a free service from your insurance. They'll tell you what they're willing to cover and write you a check to cover it. Then call a couple local contractors and have them come bid the work. Tell the contractor what the insurance is covering, but NOT how much the insurance is paying. Let them come up with their own bid. Sometimes your insurance will tell you to get a quote from a contractor first. In that case, get multiple quotes and submit them to your insurance company.
