🎓 Senior Spotlight: Anna Dowell 🎓

As we countdown to our Annual Showcase, help us celebrate OUR ONE & ONLY amazing graduating senior, Anna Dowell! 🌟

Anna has been a passionate and vibrant member of our studio, and it’s been an honor to watch her grow into such a strong and inspiring young woman.

Here's a little about Anna's next chapter:

"I plan to attend NC State University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. I plan to continue my love of storytelling and truth to pursue a career in Journalism and Broadcasting. Over the summer I will continue my internship in the Marketing department of Mountian Valley Hospice.

Dance has always been intertwined in my life since I could remember. There has never been a time when I've not known dance. Dance has given me the chance to incapsulate every emotion I've ever had out on the dance floor. I'm thankful to have spent all my dance years at Surry County Dance Center.

Over the years I've been able to build a home and dance family at the studio and dance has taught me so much more than just steps. It's taught me endurance, discipline and how to push through. It's also taught me compassion, patience and the importance of being kind. I'm forever grateful for the opportunities that I've been given in dance. And I'm forever thankful for all the amazing teachers like Mrs. Cindy Joyce, who first installed the love of dance in me. And I want to thank Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Katie, Mrs. Brenda and Ms. Ella, who have continued to help me grow in my dance journey.

I'm so grateful to also have formed so many lifelong friendships and connections through dance. I'm so sad to leave my dance family but they will always hold a very special place in my heart.

And lastly I would like to thank my parents for all the hard work they have also put in along my dance journey. I would not be where I am today if not for them.

As I say goodbye to this chapter of my life, I will always hold dance close to my heart and forever cherish the memories I've made a SCDC. Here's to new beginnings!"

Registration is officially OPEN for the 6th season at Surry County Dance Center.

Dance class becomes so much more than learning choreography. It teaches resilience, responsibility, teamwork, creativity, discipline, and confidence that carries far beyond the studio.

In a world that moves fast, we’re grateful to continue creating a space where kids can move, belong, express themselves, and grow.

Whether this is your dancer’s very first class or another year returning home to the studio, we cannot wait to welcome you into this next season!
