Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our beloved brother, drummer, and Merge co-founder, Rick Hren.
Rick was our backbeat both musically and spiritually. He kept us moving forward these past 30 plus years beginning with our original band, Opie's Dream and then for the past 25 plus years with Merge. His humor, wit and amazing talent will not be forgotten. Words cannot capture how greatly he will be missed by all who knew him, most especially by his beloved family.
We invite friends of Merge to our performances this Friday and Saturday, June 12th and 13th at the Alibi Inn in Roseville, Michigan. Though we mourn Rick deeply, the band will continue. That is what he would have wanted us to do. Please join us as we make music in Rick's honor. The shows start at 8:30.
