Many games include chat, voice messaging, friend requests, and private DMs that can connect kids with strangers. These features may expose them to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, or grooming.
Parents and caregivers can help by:
• Reviewing and adjusting chat and privacy settings together
• Disabling voice and text chat for younger children
• Keeping gaming devices in shared family spaces
• Guiding them to use safe screen names (no personal info) and explaining digital footprints
• Teaching kids how to block, report, and tell a trusted adult if something feels wrong
