Sleek, stylish and sturdy. How's that for alliteration. If you have managed to break every pair of glasses you've ever owned, maybe you should consider some frames from . The screw-less hinge design and flexible titanium material makes these frames lightweight, comfortable and virtually indestructible.

Welcome to another "Celebrity Eye Disease" with Dr. Jake!

Claude Monet, the French Impressionist painter, developed cataracts in both of his eyes later in life, which significantly impacted his artwork. The term ‘cataracts’ describes the progressive yellowing and clouding of the lens inside your eye due to aging. This condition made it difficult for Monet to distinguish colors accurately. As a result, Monet began to paint with a limited palette, opting for brighter and more vibrant colors, especially hues of yellow and orange. You can see the shift in hue and sharpness between the painting on the left which he painted when he was younger and the same landscape but painted later in life after developing cataracts. I find this to be a fantastic insight into the subjective visual experience that he was having, translated into a medium that everyone can experience. Your vision is so much more than lines of black letters on a white chart. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is taking the time to understand how you, as a patient, experience the world through your eyes and work with you to find ways to make your eyes work better, not just on the eyechart but in your daily life.

We got a couple of craft-eyewear pro's here with their adorable little munchkins. These two were so fun to fit and we're so enthusiastic about letting us find them the perfect pair. After I do eye exams, I like to have an active role in frame selection. In addition to determining the lens prescription to give you the best vision, the frame you choose can affect more than just your look. Some shapes and sizes are better for certain prescriptions. It is always about finding a balance between the optical considerations, the look, and the feel. We believe that we have the best and most carefully curated selection of high quality, workshop-made, small batch eyewear.
