The Human Rights Committee (HRC)was established in 2008 by the Isabella County Board of Commissioners

"If there’s a goal of having taxes lowered, we might already be working toward that because of the education that’s happening on the commission. We know and understand a lot more now. … The voters approve an up-to amount, the Board of Commissioners, as an annual process, gets to say what that amount is."

Since the early 1980s, Isabella County residents have easily renewed its general operations millage. So why, on the eve of early voting in the Aug. 6 state-wide primary, is this year different?
