George Washington's Mount Vernon

In our newly renovated Education Center, visit a depiction of the cabin home of Agnes, Cloe, and Hueky. Our historical costumer Kathrin Breitt Brown discusses the research and creative process for creating these garments for the exhibit. The League of Descendants of the Enslaved at Mount Vernon contributed to the project including providing their input on the the aging and distressing process of both the garments and figures.
