Our 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 for ages 3–5 meets children exactly where they are:

👑 Level 2: Next Moves — children who know the pieces
👑 Level 3: Smart Moves Lab — stronger young beginners

Chess helps young children practice focus, patience, confidence, pattern recognition, and 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴—while they believe they are simply playing. 🧩

That is why we created this 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 for kids ages 7–10 at Chess Queen’s Club in Mountain View.

This is a warm, focused, beginner-friendly chess class for children who are new to chess or early beginners — kids who are ready to learn the game the right way, in a place where they are seen, encouraged, and guided. ✨

In 4 weeks, your child will learn:

♟ how to set up the board correctly
♟ how each piece moves and captures
♟ check, checkmate, and real game basics
♟ how to start a game with a simple plan
♟ beginner tactics like forks and pins
♟ how to protect pieces instead of giving them away
♟ how to slow down and think before moving
♟ how to play with focus, patience, and good sportsmanship

But the real lesson is bigger than chess.

Chess teaches children that every move matters.
That rushing has consequences.
That 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹.

What I love most about teaching little ones chess is this:
