Our Story

Townsend has been serving our communities for over six decades, thanks to our team’s commitment of becoming the best in the industry. Our dedication to innovation and integrity has built The Townsend Corporation into a third-generation, privately-held company.

Headquartered in Muncie, Indiana, Townsend Tree Service (a unit of the Townsend Corporation) has grown to a workforce that operates in over 30 states with over 3,000 equipment assets. We utilize one of the largest fleets of All Terrain Aerial Buckets (ATAB), Right-of-Way (ROW) brush mowers, and spray application equipment.

Performance excellence is one of our core values. We continue to set industry standards that help redefine right of way stewardship, producing benefits like improved motorist safety and lower maintenance costs, to name a few.

Safety is also top of mind for everyone in our organization, from Vice Presidents, down to the foremen. We employ an active safety training program throughout the company and even utilize two mobile training centers to travel across the country for updated and educating our crews.
