"'Words have power.' Joel said this during a meeting the other day. Hearing this made me reflect upon something that occurred the previous day. I was working late registration for the HYM event. In walks a little boy, and flippantly in handing him a notebook, I said to him, 'Here you go my friend.' I didn't think much of it at the time. The event went on and things went well, and as I was leaving the school, I felt a tap on my side. I turned and looked and saw that it was the little boy from earlier. He took my hand and said to me, 'We're friends right? You said so earlier.'

Today, after the school graduation, that same boy came and found me by name. He grabbed my hand, wrapped it around his shoulder, and began walking with me. Words have power, and by God's grace, my flippant use of words has allowed me to become friends with Bobby."
