This is worth evaluating. We have found mold around our water dispenser, both outside AND inside the freezer compartment. Another area to check is the drip pan which can grow mold if not well ventilated, for example when your fridge is surrounded by cabinets. Some have also mentioned mold growing on refrigerator coils…think dust+dark+humidity=mold.

This will be the 3rd toxic mold panel I’ve taken in the last 20 months. Now 8 months post Stachybotrys in our home, 7 months post mystery mold from an AirBnB, 6 months post Aspergillus attempting to escape mold. We’ve been living in an RV for the last 6 months to heal. Hoping for improved numbers!

Mycotoxins: The Hidden Danger Lurking In Your Kitchen - Jill Carnahan, MD Take a peek in your refrigerator. Its contents may look harmless, but what if there was an invisible danger potentially wreaking havoc on your health?

Think you’ve found mold in your home? We’re talking way beyond bread mold or a spot in the shower. Maybe you’re thinking, “It’s probably not a big deal...or is it? How do I know?!” The only way to find out is by testing. You have to know what you’re dealing with in order to treat it appropriately and effectively...and without causing more potential harm to the health of you and your family. Your testing company should be completely independent of your remediation company. One should not profit from the other in order to ensure you receive unbiased recommendations in the final report. One place to begin searching for a certified mold inspector is the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). You can do a search for the type of professional you need, whether for inspection or remediation. Beware of “free” or cheap. That isn’t how it works and they probably aren’t worth their salt. Mold is nothing to push aside and ignore...it could silently and steadily cost you or health. We have spent well over $150,000 in medical expenses for what we now know to be chronic illnesses due to mold (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, an autoimmune disorder, an unresolved traumatic brain injury, and immunosuppression are only the tip of the ice berg). The cost of mold testing pales in comparison. If you suspect you or a loved one may have cancer, wouldn’t you want to know so it can be treated with the best possible care out there? Mold is no different and depending on the type of mold, combined with your genetic makeup, could have the same end result. The great news is...mold is treatable and preventable! Don’t waste time hoping it will go away with a little bleach or Kilz...two of the worst remediation plans by the way. Just take the first step in getting it tested. Things could come back fine or remedied with a few small fixes. The peace of mind will be priceless. Our only regret is not testing sooner.
