Cervical traction is one of those quiet overachievers in chiropractic care.
At its core, it’s a gentle, controlled stretch applied to the neck. But what it’s really doing is creating space. Space between the vertebrae. Space for irritated nerves. Space for discs that may be compressed from posture stress, old injuries, or long hours looking down at a screen.
Here’s what that means for patients:
• It can help reduce pressure on discs
• It may decrease nerve irritation that contributes to arm pain, numbness, or tingling
• It supports restoring the natural cervical curve
• It helps relax tight neck and shoulder muscles
• It can improve mobility and reduce stiffness
When the curve in the neck begins to flatten, the head shifts forward. And since your head weighs about 10 to 12 pounds, every inch forward adds extra strain to the spine and surrounding muscles. Cervical traction works to gently guide that alignment back where it belongs.
Like most things in chiropractic, consistency matters more than intensity.
It’s not about forcing change. It’s about giving the body the right conditions so it can do what it was designed to do.

Busy Schedule? Consistency Still Matters 🗓️
We get it. Life moves fast. Between work, family, and everything in between, it’s tempting to squeeze in care only when pain shows up.
But your spine doesn’t respond best to occasional attention. It responds to consistency.
Regular chiropractic visits help your body maintain proper movement, reduce recurring tension, and support long-term spinal health, even when your schedule is packed. Skipping care often means starting over, instead of building on progress you’ve already made.
Think of it like brushing your teeth or exercising. Small, consistent habits create better results than waiting for a problem to demand your time.
Even on your busiest weeks, caring for your spine helps you stay active, focused, and doing the things you love without interruption.
Your life is full. Let your care be steady.
