1. Get the dog owner’s contact information— Aside from pursuing compensation, it’s important that your doctor is able to find out if the dog has any symptoms of infectious diseases.

2. Seek medical treatment— Go to the emergency room or your family physician, etc. Treatment may include wound dressing, stitches, antibiotics, tetanus shot, and other medical care.

3. Take photos of your dog bite— Documentation and photographs of your injury, subsequent treatment and healing process will be valuable to your case.
