Semi-retirement gives you a chance to re-evaluate your in so many aspects. I say semi because I’m still doing workshops for PFI Solutions and probably will teach in the fall. I would love to return to my family at Theatre Tuscaloosa for classes if Tina F. Turley would have me.

Im been trying to “clean up” my life. That means ridding myself of the unhealthy relationships. Everyone wants u as friends if they see u have companies that u own. I’ve grown okay with the idea of being alone. As much as I want to share my life with someone they all have the wrong motivation. And I am by no means desperate. I do have a butt load of love to give but I realize thru my low esteem battles that I am prize n that needs to be recognized. I have my sister Karen Grissom Love and brother in law David Love and I’ve taught my nephew so many of my baseball knowledge and Alex Love is going to be a star.

I have such gratitude for long-standing Facebook friendships, people I may have never met but greatly appreciate being a part of my online family. Someday it’d be cool to have a Facebook family reunion and meet u all but my ego couldn’t handle all the no-shows. lol. Aaron Watkins Zachary Lee are two examples of never-met friends who I cherish. There are others but this quick post has already grown out of control.

My PFI family is invaluable to me. Whether colleagues Tim Key Tina turley Carol DeVelice Adam Miller n so many others. I think y’all often n cant pass a cake without thinking of Tina F. Turley and Lisa Sledge Jones.

Anyways, THANK YOU to everyone in my life that make a positive difference unbeknown to them Sara Williams O'Neal as an example. Everyone remember I am only 1 hour n 45 mins from most of u. Don’t take the omission of ur names as anything than lack of space and a badly meandering post.

Today I’m up early to prepare to go to Cullman to attend the funeral of Tim Key’s mom. Tim has been in my life since I moved back to Birmingham. He was in my first Improv class at Virginia Samford theatre. He did sound at the barking kudu and was soon on stage. Most recently Tim joined me at Orange Beach for a workshop for the hospice and Pallative care organization. Sadly, He was unable to do many more as he spent the last 9 months living in Cullman and taking care of his mom. He unselfishly surrendered so much to be the good son. Tim has been an amazing friend be n became the adoptive brother to Karen Grissom Love tho karen has only met him once at oddly my own mother’s funeral in 2012. Today when almost. everyone u encounter is fake or has hidden motives, Tim is one of the few genuine people in my life. Though I never met his mom over all these years, I feel as if I have because of the make-up of Tim. Much like my mom and dad, she was “simple folk” and instilled those rarely seen qualities in him. Tim has been with me thru so much from the creation of Positively Funny Inc. to helping teach with Tina F. Turley and the Theatre Tuscaloosa to the work at PFI Solutions. Please offer up your thoughts and prayers for Tim today as he faces the toughest task of laying his mom to rest. Tim has even met my family Kaye Grissom Storey in Auburn after a workshop there. I love him n my grief is heavy.
