Life at Step Up isn't just mentoring participants, meeting with donors, or celebrating milestones—sometimes it's patching a roof and repairing a ceiling after an unexpected leak!
One of the joys (and adventures!) of caring for older homes is that they always keep us on our toes. While their character is something we love, they also require plenty of maintenance to remain safe, welcoming, and ready for the women who call them home.
We're grateful for staff, volunteers, and community partners who willingly tackle the behind-the-scenes projects that often go unnoticed. Every repair, fresh coat of paint, and maintenance task is another way we care for the spaces where healing, growth, and new beginnings take place.

Each day is centered around creating a safe and supportive home filled with connection, care, and consistency. From cooking meals and teaching life skills to mentoring, listening, and supporting moms with baby care, no moment is wasted.
Through intentional presence, prayer, and meaningful communication, she helps create a rhythm where participants feel both supported and empowered. Whether it’s daily check-ins or once-in-a-lifetime moments like being in the delivery room, her role is deeply relational.
While the work can be challenging, the joy is found in watching participants grow—taking brave steps toward independence and welcoming new life into the world. It’s a role rooted in service, faith, and showing up every day with purpose.
Heidi, you are such a blessing to our program!
Happy Father’s Day!
Today, we are thankful for the healthy, safe, and godly men who lead by example. Thank you for showing what it looks like to love others well, follow Jesus faithfully, and invest in the next generation.
Your presence, guidance, and encouragement make a lasting difference.

Fun experiences are an important part of Step Up’s program. Two weekends ago, staff and participants enjoyed a trip to the John Ball Zoo followed by a picnic together.
These opportunities help build relationships, create positive memories, and provide experiences that many of our participants might not otherwise have.
Thank you to for your generous donation, which helped make this special day possible!
