We'd like to introduce our new 6-12 Social Studies Teacher! Welcome Katie to our Crusader Community!

Hi! My name is Katie Dirkse, and I’m so thrilled to be joining the Crusader Community! I’m a West Michigan native, and I’m so excited to teach, live, and serve close to home. After I graduated from Hope College in 2023, I’ve been substitute teaching while waiting tables to stay sharp. When I’m not in the classroom teaching Social Studies, you can find me enjoying local restaurants with friends, golfing, at the beach, or at home sewing, crocheting, and spending time with family. I love to travel, and I look forward to connecting with the community and classroom!

Here is a little bit about him:
"I am a 2023 Grand Valley mathematics graduate originally from Hillsdale, MI, and soon-to-be graduate of the University of Tennessee. I've spent a lot of my time at Tennessee studying number theory, algebra, and topology, but after teaching for the past three years, I knew the classroom was where I was destined to be. I love math, and I love sharing my interests with others; what could be better than sharing my love of math for a living! Outside of math, I'm a huge music nerd with an ever-growing record collection, a runner, programmer, trivia enthusiast, video gamer, and an increasingly avid reader. I am blessed and excited to become a part of the Muskegon community, and I am looking forward to making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom."

Led by Coaches Barry Kieft and PJ Kieft, this camp is a great opportunity for both new and experienced wrestlers to improve their skills in a fun, encouraging environment.
