Coach Ros recently took a little trip to Hawaii! Main objective wasn’t to drink Mai Tais out of a coconut though… She competed in an international Juijitsu tournament and in Rosalyn Robinson fashion, of course found her way to the top of the podium!
Shout out to the most humble assassin we know!
Congrats Nick Jones on coaching her up to all her success!

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT: Matt 💪
Sometimes it’s the little things that say the most about a person’s character.
Matt has made a habit of showing up a few minutes early to help set up equipment before class. It’s never expected and it’s never asked of him—he just sees an opportunity to help and jumps in.
That willingness to serve, combined with his consistency and hard work, is exactly what makes our community so special. It’s people like Matt who remind us that great gyms aren’t just built by coaches—they’re built by members who care about the people around them.
Thanks for always lending a hand and helping make Muskegon CrossFit a better place. We appreciate you, Matt! 👊

ATHLETE OF THE MONTH: AMY GARCIA

Amy Garcia is one of those people who brings genuine and unique energy to the morning classes. She keeps it real, works hard, and has been a familiar face at MCF since the very early days!

Born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba while her dad was serving in the U.S. Navy, Amy has called Muskegon home for most of her life. Athletics have always been a huge part of her life. She started playing soccer at age eight, earned All-District honors in high school, played collegiately, and still competes today in co-ed soccer and volleyball. Her true athletic passion, though, is dance, and she even performed with Muskegon Community College.

Professionally, Amy is a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor in Clinical Mental Health and has spent more than 10 years helping others through human services. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, creating craft cocktails, and has attended well over 100 concerts. She’s also a proud dog mom to Houston, a shepherd mix she adopted in San Antonio.

For Amy, CrossFit is about much more than fitness. After undergoing three surgeries related to symptomatic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), building strength became essential to living the life she wants outside the gym. That determination recently led her to compete at **DEATHCON** with us and her current goals include improving her gymnastics and endurance, and getting stronger for kiteboarding.

Amy has been part of MCF since the original Riegler Road days after first meeting Coaches Russ, Jordy, Jeff at the Muskegon YMCA. One of her favorite memories is volunteering as a lifeguard during the Fresh Coast Games, putting her lifeguard certification to good use!

Outside the gym, Amy’s greatest source of pride is her two boys, Ethan and Raphael, who keep her busy with football, lacrosse, and premier soccer. She also wanted to recognize the incredible tribe around her. Whether it’s helping with school drop-offs, cheering her on at competitions, offering grace on the hard days, or celebrating the victories, their support means the world to her.

Amy, thank you for the positivity, resilience, and authenticity you bring to MCF every morning. 🤘💪
