WE ENVISION
A community where every adult thrives and maintains independence.

Healthy aging is about more than healthcare, it’s also about staying connected, independent, and engaged in the community. 🌿

Here in South Carolina, the need for connection and support continues to grow:
• Nearly 24% of South Carolina’s population is expected to be age 65+ by 2035
• Almost 4 out of every 10 South Carolinians age 65+ live alone
• Horry County’s population continues to rapidly grow, with nearly 27% of residents already age 65 or older
• Transportation barriers remain one of the leading reasons older adults miss medical appointments or delay care

Research also shows that social isolation can increase the risk of depression, cognitive decline, and other serious health concerns among older adults.

Something as simple as access to transportation, a grocery trip, a friendly phone call, or staying involved in the community can make a major difference in overall wellness and quality of life.

Healthy aging happens when people remain connected to the people, places, and activities that matter most.

Charles needs specialty eye care in Charleston, and the trip is more than 120 miles round trip.

For many older adults in rural communities, specialty care may technically exist but access does not.

Without transportation, appointments get canceled.
Conditions worsen.
People wait too long.

Neighbor to Neighbor coordinates the ride so Charles can receive care he otherwise would miss.

Because healthcare only works if people can actually get there.

Linda needed a ride to Walmart.

Simple on paper but life-changing in reality.

Without access to groceries, many older adults end up relying on convenience foods, skipping meals, or going without essentials entirely.

A volunteer driver helps make sure Linda’s refrigerator stays full and her independence remained intact. Sometimes fighting hunger starts with a set of car keys.

Mike requested transportation to church.

Not a medical appointment.
Not treatment.
Church.

For many older adults, isolation can quietly become one of the greatest threats to health, happiness, and quality of life.

Being able to stay connected to faith, friendships, and community matters more than most people realize.

Because of Neighbor to Neighbor volunteers, Mike is able to continue attending services, seeing familiar faces, and staying connected to the community he loves.

Transportation is about more than getting from one place to another.
Sometimes, it is about belonging.

Do you have 1 hour a week or 2 hours a month?

We are overwhelmed with gratitude after Palmetto Giving Day!

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, fundraiser, sponsor, and supporter who helped make this possible. What may feel like a small act to one person becomes transportation to chemo, groceries for a homebound senior, or connection for someone feeling isolated.

This community showed up in a big way, and we will never take that for granted.

Thank you for helping us keep neighbors connected. 🚗💙
