In the hustle and bustle of eggs, kids, and family gatherings we often forget to take time to sit down and remember what Easter is really about. The hope of Salvation.

This hope doesn't have to be rooted in tradition. So this year let us take a moment to be optimistic. That while some of us may still feel isolated, may still feel desperate, feel beaten down, or suffering the loss of loved ones from this epidemic, this will get better. Have hope!

Every year at this time, I am reminded of how important it is to wish our neighbors and strangers alike, good will and peace on earth.

There are many valid and passionate reasons to celebrate the holidays. 2020 perhaps more so than ever. For myself and my family, this spirit is rooted in giving. Not because we feel obliged, nor because someone tells us it is the right thing to do. Not because of fame, or even pride.

But simply because we can, and others are in need. Giving is not always about spending money. The best gifts can often be a random compliment, lending an ear, a shoulder to rest on, or a simple phone call to check in on a friend.

If you do nothing else between today and the end of this year; please commit to one of these simple gifts for each other.
