Storm Watch:  we have a winter storm watch in effect for Sunday night thru Tuesday with coastal flooding forecasted. We will be closing the storm gate at children’s beach on
Sunday Feb 22 at 2PM.  We will re-open when weather permits.

⚠️ Frozen Seawater Is Not Safe Ice ⚠️

With temperatures fluctuating, shorelines may appear frozen and solid — but frozen seawater is unpredictable and extremely dangerous. Tides, currents, and changing temperatures can weaken the ice from below, creating thin spots that aren’t visible from the surface. What looks sturdy will give way in seconds.

With school vacation starting, please be extra aware of children who may be tempted to explore or play on the ice.

Please remember:
• Stay off all frozen ocean water and tidal areas
• Keep a safe distance from the shoreline
• Keep dogs on leash when walking near ice on the shoreline or near ponds — pets can easily run onto unstable areas and fall through. If a dog gets stuck in the ice call 9-1-1, do not go onto the ice!
