Tonight we were invited to the Nantucket Dance Festival from Nantucket Dance Theater owner, Michelle Birmingham. The evening acts were opened by our home town dancer, Peter Haigh who has turned into a magnificent and beautiful dancer. We saw modern dances, lyrical, a high energy swing dance, juking, tap dancing, ballet, and much more. When I asked the residents what their favorite dance was they answered, “All of them!” Thank you Michelle Birmingham for including us in this incredible dance event.

Those of us in the activities department and residents alike get very excited when we have a new accessible location to visit in this very historic town. This was some of our residents 1st time to the beach in over 7 years. We would like to thank the Nantucket Land Bank for making this new acquired property accessible for people in wheelchairs and who have issues with gait. You made our trip extra smooth by making it an easy access site. Residents were sad to go when our time was up. One resident stated that hearing the lapping waves alone was worth the trip. Thank you, Land bank! An extra special thank you to Nathan Chubb and Megan Floyd of Preferred Therapy Solutions for working with each resident pre trip on how to safely get in and out of the beach chairs.
