Mme. Lalou Bize-Leroy is a legendary figure in Burgundy’s wine industry, renowned for her dedication to biodynamic viticulture and her uncompromising pursuit of excellence. Born in 1932, she began her journey in 1955 by joining her family’s négociant business, Maison Leroy. In 1974, she became co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), one of the world’s most esteemed wine estates, where she played a pivotal role in elevating its wines to global acclaim. After departing DRC in 1992, she focused on her own ventures, establishing Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay, both celebrated for producing some of Burgundy’s most sought-after wines. 

Madame Bize-Leroy’s steadfast commitment to biodynamic practices and her visionary approach have cemented her status as the “Queen of Burgundy.” Her influence extends beyond her own labels, inspiring a broader movement toward organic and biodynamic farming in the region. Her wines are not only a testament to the terroir but also to her relentless passion and artistry. 
Today, at over 90 years old, Lalou Bize-Leroy continues to influence the wine world, embodying dedication and excellence in Burgundy winemaking. We hold her in the highest regard and deeply admire her unwavering dedication and exceptional talent.
