As we start to feel the chilly Chicago winter approaching, I have some ideas for you all that can help with organization! In this otherwise magical season, coats, hats, gloves, and boots can occupy a lot of space in our homes and easily become cluttered. Here are five design ideas to help manage your winter gear:

1. Dedicate a closet for winter gear only. Install hooks or shelves to keep everything organized and easily accessible.

2. Keep floors clean and dry by placing boot trays near the entrance. This will also prevent salt and snow from damaging your floors.

3. Use a wall-mounted coat rack instead of a bulky coat stand. This will also make it easier to find the coat you need quickly.

4. Use over-the-door organizers to keep gloves, hats, and scarves in one place. This is a great way to save space and keep everything within reach.

5. If you're short on closet space, consider using storage ottomans. These versatile pieces of furniture can store winter gear and act as extra seating when you have guests over.
