Ayurvedic Living at Edge Yoga School: Tea as a Daily Ritual
TIP: When the urge to snack arises, consider reaching for a warm cup of tea first. Often the body is asking for nourishment, grounding, or hydration rather than additional food. A thoughtfully prepared herbal tea can calm the nervous system, support digestion, and provide gentle micronutrients that help the body return to balance.
At Edge Yoga School, our approach to Ayurveda centers on education, awareness, and sustainable daily rituals rather than prescribing herbs or medical treatment. Ayurveda invites us to observe how we feel, how we digest, how we sleep, and how we respond to the rhythms of the seasons. From this awareness, small supportive habits emerge. One of the simplest and most accessible of these habits is the daily tea ritual.
In recent years, dietary trends that focus on extremely limited food choices, including patterns built around consuming only meat and water, have gained popularity in some wellness circles. While individuals may explore many nutritional approaches, it is important to recognize that women in particular often require a broad spectrum of micronutrients to support bone health, nervous system regulation, metabolic stability, and hormonal balance. Plant-based minerals, phytonutrients, and naturally occurring antioxidants found in herbs, roots, leaves, and blossoms play a meaningful role in helping the body maintain long-term vitality. A warm herbal infusion can become a gentle daily way to include these supportive elements.
Ayurvedic living does not demand perfection. It encourages rhythm, consistency, and listening. A cup of nettle tea may offer mineral support. Ginger tea can awaken digestion. Tulsi or chamomile may calm the mind after a long day. Over time, these small practices create a foundation of steadiness that feels both nurturing and sustainable.
As we deepen our exploration of Ayurvedic lifestyle practices at Edge Yoga School, tea gatherings, wellness discussions, and seasonal learning circles will continue to highlight how everyday rituals can support resilience. The intention is not to tell anyone what they must take, but to offer education, reflection, and simple practices that help each person build their own mindful routine.
Students enrolled in our program may send a Slack DM to Michelle or those interested in enrolling are invited to send a CHAT to begin a conversation.
