🌟 Member Spotlight – Carol Megahan! 🌟

Carol Megahan joined Baker Senior Center Naples 3 years ago, where she found her way back to singing and dancing, which she had always loved. Carol currently participates in the Sing Along Guitar Club, Karaoke, and Melodious Echoes – a choir consisting of BSCN members, volunteers, and people living with dementia.

When asked about what Carol enjoys about her involvement with BSCN, she said “I now have more friends and learning from others how to sing better and spreading joy and inspiration to others. It doesn’t get much better than that!”

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Sally Lam 🌟

We are proud to recognize Sally Lam, a dedicated volunteer whose passion and commitment have made a lasting impact at Baker Senior Center Naples. Sally assists our staff with Dementia Respite Groups, where individuals living with mild to moderate dementia enjoy activities, social engagement, and supportive connections. Sally also played a pivotal role in bringing Baker Senior Center College to life. Inspired by a volunteer-run senior college she discovered while visiting Prince Edward Island, Sally shared the idea with BSNC. Her vision led to the creation of Baker Senior Center College, which offers six-week courses designed specifically for adults 60+ who want to reignite their love of learning, explore new interests, and enjoy education without the pressure of exams or assignments.

When asked what she gains from volunteering, Sally shared: "The total experience of volunteering is uplifting. I feel like I get much more out of it than I give. I would actually be willing to pay for volunteering because it's such a wonderful experience!"

🐱🐾 Patty Baker Humane Society Naples Furry Friends Bring Smiles to Baker Senior Center Naples! 🐾🐱

Our members and staff enjoyed a fun afternoon visiting with some adorable feline friends from Patty Baker Humane Society Naples. From petting and playing to simply sharing quiet moments together, these special visits create meaningful connections for both our members and these lovable, adoptable cats.
