Take this weekend to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
Find a handheld mirror and take turns describing the person in the reflection. Talk about how this is what we naturally see, but it is not what God sees. God looks at our hearts! Ask your kids how they can work on seeing the heart like God does.

This month, kids learned that God knows every detail by diving into 1 Samuel 16:1-13. A prophet named Samuel followed God’s directions to find the next king of Israel. Samuel thought he would know the next king just by looking. However, God told Samuel that He knows our hearts and that is what mattered most. Kids learned that God sees us, knows us, and loves us no matter what! Ask your kids to describe their day in as much detail as possible. Share that we tend only to notice certain things, but God sees our hearts, and He knows every detail about us!

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Choose your student's favorite toy or stuffed animal. Sit in a circle and toss the item to each other. As each family member holds the item, say the name of a family member or friend and pray, “God, thank You for knowing and loving ____.” Remind your child(ren) that God knows and loves everyone.
