Chet’s antlers are REALLY starting to take shape this year 🦌

Those rounded, bulb-like ends you see are active growth points where the antlers are still rapidly developing. While they’re growing, the antlers are covered in a soft layer called velvet, which is filled with blood vessels and nutrients that help support new growth.

Reindeer antlers are actually one of the fastest growing tissues in the animal world, and it’s incredible to watch the changes happen almost daily this time of year.

One of our biggest focuses in our breeding program is producing large, clean, balanced antlers, so watching this growth each spring is always exciting for us 💛
