Hi friends, I’d like to apologize if I’ve been difficult to reach over the last few days. It’s not usually like me. My mami passed away this week, and life will never be the same for me. As the upcoming wedding season quickly approaches, I can’t help but think about how difficult it will be without her.

Here at the office, we used to call her our special volunteer. She was always picking up after us, worried we might trip over stems on the floor. She loved breaking down flower boxes to clear more space for us to work. She would sweep the studio or organize the ribbon box while telling us stories. She helped babysit Sofia so that my daughter could get more work done with me.

Her Cuban coffee was the perfect afternoon boost to keep us all going. It brought a smile to everyone’s face to see her coming with cafecito. Something special my past brides might not realize is that my mom would inspect and approve every arrangement before we loaded the van, and she’d pray over every single bridal bouquet. She wanted to make sure every couple was blessed with a happy marriage, or as she’d say in Spanish, “Que Dios bendiga tu matrimonio.” When we returned home in the evenings, she was always so excited to see pictures and videos of how everything turned out.

There are no words to describe how deeply we miss you and the emptiness we feel without you. But even in my heartbreak, I’m so incredibly thankful to my mother for teaching me to be hardworking, independent, and an entrepreneur. I promise to always make you proud. 🤍

I also want to thank everyone for your patience and kind words over the last few days. Your prayers mean the world to our family during this time.
