I loved my third grade teacher. She was warm and caring and fun. Up until that point, I had always been anxious about school. But in her class, I felt comfortable. This was the year I decided I wanted to be a teacher. 🍎

One day in third grade, we read a story about a girl who planted wildflowers and afterwards, we had to write about a way that we could make the world a more beautiful place. I wrote that I would collect seashells from the beach and sprinkle them along the highways for travelers to enjoy. My teacher read my paragraph, bent down next to my desk and said, “Courtney, this is beautiful. You are so creative.” That compliment and encouragement stuck with me. It meant a lot for someone special to me to see something special in me. ✍🏼

Recently, I was with my family on a “shelling” beach (my happy place) in Florida and this memory came to mind and made me smile. In that very moment, I felt God speak to my heart and remind me that He made me to be creative. 💜
