We do our research so you can focus on recovery. We look at credible sources when we provide answers to your questions. And when it comes to your health, not only should you be in control but you should be able to trust the people advising you. You should also not feel bad about asking questions! I can’t tell you how many times patients have come to me saying “I didn’t know what questions to ask” or “I’ve asked this so many times but no one is giving me an answer” and “this might be a silly question, but…” and unless you have someone advocating on your behalf, most people never get the answers they need. So number one, OT’s can help you figure out what questions are important for your current situation and diagnosis. Number two, when you ask a question about your health, whoever it is that you asked should have the answer, know where to find the answer, and/or be able to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. And number three, there are no such things as silly questions, only silly people ;)
