Christmas is one of those rare pauses in the year where time softens. The house fills with the sounds of laughter, clinking glasses, paws padding across the floor, and the quiet comfort of being with the people…and animals…who know us best. It’s friends dropping by, family gathered close, pets curled up under the tree, and that unmistakable feeling of warmth that has nothing to do with the weather.
It’s also likely a day for enjoying food without overthinking it. The cookies your aunt makes once a year. The extra helping. The late-night snack you didn’t plan on. That’s part of the ritual. Celebration is meant to be savored, not micromanaged.
But…then comes the next day.
The beautiful thing is you don’t have to “punish” yourself or swear anything off. You just gently rebalance.
The day after Christmas can be about care. Hydrating well. Starting the morning with something grounding like eggs and greens or a smoothie with vegan protein powder. Going for a long walk after dinner with the dog. Letting your body stretch and breathe. Choosing lighter, simpler meals that make you feel clear and energized rather than heavy. Meals that keep your blood sugar in balance. Activities that reduce your cortisol.
Think soups, green vegetables, clean proteins, and lots of water or herbal tea. Nothing extreme. Nothing restrictive. Just kindness and recalibration.
Celebration and health aren’t opposites. They’re partners. You get to enjoy the sweetness of the moment and support your body afterward. Both can coexist.
Here’s to full hearts, healthy bodies, wagging tails, and a gentle return to balance. 🐶🎄✨

After a little time away, I’m back on the Gram feeling more energized than ever to support you on your journey to optimal health and sustainable weight loss! 🌿
✨ This summer has been full of travel adventures (with more to come!), and I’ve loved showing that it is possible to enjoy eating out, savor new experiences, and still keep my blood glucose balanced. 💚
My day of adventure at Michigan’s Warren Dunes State Park reminded me that life is about finding fun in challenges. As I ran up and down the sand dunes, I was so grateful for my choices taken almost two decades ago to make significant, permanent and yet simple changes to my diet and lifestyle. They lead me to this moment. And the desire to try something new.
Now in my early 70s, I’m launching something I’ve never done before - an ONLINE group coaching cohort this fall.
As a health counselor with a background in bedside registered nursing and a master’s in social work, I’ve spent decades perfecting the Data-Driven Diet™ . It’s a personalized approach that looks at both the mental and physical components of weight loss. We also assess your body’s unique response to food. Guided by your glucose, insulin, and cortisol feedback, we help you create a program designed to achieve real, lasting results. No generic plans here.

Advice for healthy spending:
- the fewer the products in your life, the better off you are likely to be
- the fewer ingredients in the products you buy, the better off you are likely to be
- download the and use it while shopping to see the health rating of beauty and self-care products
- prioritize whole real food as the source of nutrients over individual supplementation
- check the back of products to see who owns the brands you are buying; though not exclusively, when it’s a mega corporation (Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, etc), be more scrutinizing of their health claims
- keep in mind that many top health priorities are free: movement, sleep, sunshine, gratitude, mindset
