Uh oh!!
We got real dirty this last week picking out tons of plastic and non-compostable items.
Please make sure to empty the food out of the plastic and that trash goes into the correct receptacle, not the compost bin!

This yard looks pretty, but rocks and artificial turf are not Florida-Friendly. Residents should use these materials sparingly as the surface temperatures can be 40 - 70 degrees higher than the surrounding air, killing beneficial soil microbes. Living turf, shrubs, trees and mulch are preferred as they help cool the environment. Read more in our publication: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/EP612
