Naples Compost

Happy Fourth of July!
We hope everyone enjoys today with family and friends!
And remember, all of those leftovers should be in your compost buckets, not the trash cans!

Uh oh!!
We got real dirty this last week picking out tons of plastic and non-compostable items.
Please make sure to empty the food out of the plastic and that trash goes into the correct receptacle, not the compost bin!

This yard looks pretty, but rocks and artificial turf are not Florida-Friendly. Residents should use these materials sparingly as the surface temperatures can be 40 - 70 degrees higher than the surrounding air, killing beneficial soil microbes. Naples is making a HUGE impact!
They have diverted a total so far of 23,229.9 POUNDS of scraps from the landfill!!
