Portraits Unplugged: Finding the Beauty in Natural Light with
Bobbi Lane, Sponsored by Fuji Film

Any time of day can work for flattering or effective environmental portraits provided you learn to “see” the light/shadow.  The “Big Three” – direction, quality and depth of light are the key to describing your subject and setting the mood. We work with window light, backlight, open shade and garage door lighting. Reflectors and diffusers provide a tremendous amount of control in manipulating the light.
We will start with an instructional image presentation that covers the “rules” of Portraits Unplugged and various lighting situations for creative imaging. We will then go outside for demos with reflectors and diffusers and then photographed models on location. This presentation and shooting class will help create a higher level of quality for your subjects!

Interested in retouching and masking techniques?

Join Ben Willmore in a workshop at the annual FCCC Conference March 10-11!

Retouching and masking are two of the most common tasks performed in Photoshop. Learn to become dramatically more skilled and efficient by learning precisely how Photoshop’s retouching tools were designed to be used together and then master the hidden keyboard shortcuts that will allow you to resize, rotate and reposition what content using most retouching tools. Then we’ll shirt our focus to upgrading your selection and masking techniques so you can more effectively isolate objects within your images.
