Collier County Public Schools team members were proud to participate in the inaugural Walk 4 ALICE at North Collier Regional Park today, organized by United Way of Collier and the Keys. Big thanks to Rob Duns from Gulf Coast News for emceeing & supporting!

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. These are hardworking members of our community who are employed but still face challenges affording basic household necessities.

The data underscores the importance of community collaboration. In 2023, 43% of Collier County households were below the ALICE Threshold, up from 36% in 2021.

I hope more workplaces and community partners get involved in the future as this effort continues to grow.

Our district-wide theme this school year is “The Power of WE.” Here’s an opportunity to put words into action… ⬇️
