In this episode of Meet the Experts, Dr. Joseph Lamelas, Director of the Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery Program at the Rooney Heart Institute, shares why he chose to join a team of exceptional cardiac specialists and his vision to grow the minimally invasive cardiac surgery program at NCH.

A pioneer in the field, Dr. Lamelas has developed and refined numerous techniques used today, consistently focusing on making surgery less invasive, improving outcomes, and expanding the possibilities for treating a wider range of cardiac conditions.

Sixteen-year-old Cole Woessner is back on the field after a UCL injury threatened his dream of playing professional sports.

The Southwest Florida athlete, who competes in both baseball and pickleball, underwent surgery followed by rehabilitation at HSS at NCH. Working alongside physical therapist Andrew Panciroli, PT, DPT, Cole combined hard work, determination, and advanced technology, including the DARI motion capture system, to safely return to play.

Just four months after beginning rehabilitation, Cole was cleared to resume his throwing program and is back doing what he loves.
