We have an affordable energy reform bill. Yay! The bill number is Senate Bill 1532.

Now we have to build people power and move our elected officials. This is a bill that makes utility regulators accountable and protects consumers from corporate greed.

The legislative session starts January 13, so the timing is critical. One of our strategic targets is Senator Passidomo because she is the former Senate President and holds influence in the Senate. We would love for her to leave a legacy of energy affordability for all her constituents.

You can help pass affordable energy reform by calling and helping drive calls to her office at 850 487 5028. Please ask her to fight for affordable electricity bills by supporting SB 1532.

Florida is in an affordability crisis. Florida Power and Light just raised rates for profit and our families are paying the cost. This is why we are collecting signatures.

On Tuesday, September 9, from 9 AM–12 PM, the Collier County Board of Commissioners will vote on a resolution opposing FPL’s astronomical rate hike.

Experts have said this resolution will greatly influence the Florida Public Service Commission’s final decision, which affects how much you will pay. It also becomes part of the official record against FPL’s $10+ billion petition.
