Sea Turtle nesting season begins. That means mama sea turtle will be coming ashore in the dark of night to lay their eggs. In the morning you will see a track in the sand to where the eggs were laid. Most places where this occurs have monitoring groups that work to protect the nests by placing wire cages around the nests. Please be wary and respectful of these nests. Each nest contains approximately 100 eggs and they usually take 60 days to hatch. All though statistics vary I have read that about one in 1,000 to 1 in 10,000 sea turtles live to adulthood.
