The UMass Lowell Food Forest, planted in 2024, is a community centered space rooted at the intersection of food security, research, and well-being. The food forest is open to all and offers free food for community members to harvest. The site supports hands-on learning, research, and well-being programming, creating a vibrant space for people and the planet to thrive together. Come visit us at 46 Wilder St. on UMass Lowell’s South Campus!

As part of the Regenerative Roots Association Food Forest Project, we support the planting of community orchards & food forests around New England! One of the ten organizations that received support from our annual Tree Grant in 2025 was the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, which expanded their beautiful community orchard at Kelley Farm Preserve, Bernard, Mt. Desert Island Maine, this spring by planting some new apple trees!

It's seedling season! This year, we are distributing 3,000 tomato & pepper seedlings with collaborative partners as part of the Regenerative Roots Association Plant Share to help people grow healthy food & learn about the importance of food security! Thanks to Dartmouth Health, the Club National, and the YMCA of Greater Nashua for helping us distribute seedlings to hundreds of people, estimated to grow 10,000-20,000 pounds of food in 2026!
