A recent Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) study found that rural counties with broadband adoption rates of over 80% have significant advantages over those with low usage. The U.S. government hopes programs like ReConnect and BEAD will help overcome the cost challenges of serving rural markets. Still, even before BEAD gets implemented next year, rural broadband operators are aggressively deploying fiber-based broadband networks.

To overcome the challenges of deploying fiber, some vendors are developing programs to help rural broadband players accelerate rural broadband deployments.
