Longwood Opera

I just heard of the passing of John Moriarty! A mentor to many of us. He inspired me so much to make opera for all! and sent me off on an incredible operatic journey inspired by his passion for this art form. so many memories, so many stories.

Hard to imagine no New Years Needham to close out 2020. Harder to believe no Longwood Opera participating. Our final performance was NYN 2018.

Dear Friends of Longwood Opera,

This past year Christ Episcopal Church decided to restructure the physical space in and around the hall we have enjoyed using for our performances over the years. As a result, the church is no longer a viable performance venue for Longwood Opera. Needless to say, this is a major setback for us. For the time being therefore, we are unable to schedule any performances.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support that has allowed us to continue and thrive as a vibrant Needham-based cultural organization for the past 28 years, bringing "Opera for All."
