A healthy diet can slow down the aging process and eliminate rashes and dullness. However, if your skin condition is neglected, it will take six weeks for the first results to appear (this is about the time it takes for skin cells to renew themselves).

Your diet should definitely include:
1. Several servings of vegetables or fruits a day, preferably a variety of fruits, to provide your body with antioxidants and different kinds of vitamins. Carrots and pumpkin are rich in carotene, lutein is found in spinach and kale, and vitamin C is abundant in blackcurrants, kiwi and blueberries.
2. Foods containing selenium and vitamin E. Both are found in sunflower seeds. Selenium is also abundant in fish, meat, cashews, and tomatoes, while vitamin E is found in corn oil and pine nuts.
3. Useful fats that will keep your skin naturally hydrated: walnuts, avocados, oily fish, flax seeds.
4. Zinc-rich foods: fish, seeds, nuts, or poultry.
5. Sufficient amount of water.
