First Church New Britain

New Britain Public Schools require a universal uniform for grades K-8.
Tops are polo style with a collar in solid white, navy blue, red or yellow.
Bottoms are khaki, navy blue, or black dress slacks, skirts,
jumpers, dress shorts, or skort bottoms.
Our Missions committee will host a uniform exchange
on Saturday, August 8th, from 10 am-2 pm.
Parents of children in these grades will be able to bring old uniforms
and exchange them for what they need.
We will also accept gently used uniforms before the event,
during First Church office hours, Monday-Friday, 9 am-noon.

Governor Ned Lamont has activated Connecticut's Extreme Hot Weather Protocol as dangerously high temperatures are expected across the state over the coming days.

If you need relief from the heat, cooling centers are available in New Britain. Please see the flyer below for current locations and hours.

To stay safe during extreme heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible and avoid prolonged outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
❤️ Check on older adults, neighbors, friends, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can become life-threatening very quickly.
